Hello, I am Jack Foley.

I am a microbiologist by day, photographer by night, based out of Columbus, Ohio, USA.

I began my journey as a teenager messing with my parent’s old 35mm Nikon (which I still use to this day). After shooting my first roll of black and white film, I was hooked. I soon began spending my high school years in the darkroom developing my own film and making prints.

Upon graduating into the COVID-19 pandemic, I started my studies in the B.S. Microbiology program at The Ohio State University. As the world began opening up again in 2021, I started going to local shows in basements and backyards and putting my photography skills to the test. Soon thereafter, I became heavily involved in my local music scene, spending my weekends in cramped punk venues and DIY spaces. Since then, I have worked as a DJ and contributor for AROUSE OSU, the student radio organization at The Ohio State University, as well as holding an elected position as the 2023-2024 Executive Director of Events and Fundraising. I have had the pleasure of covering artists such as Young The Giant, Boygenius, LCD Soundsystem, and Steve Lacy. Recently, I began working as a contributor for Galaxy Magazine, an online and print entertainment magazine.

Energy is everything. My goal is to capture the energy of artists and package it into a single moment, whether it be on film or digital.
